am Paola Díaz, a Honduran biologist and a researcher at the Centro de Investigaciones en Ciencias del Mar y Limnología (CIMAR) at the University of Costa Rica. My work primarily focuses on fisheries management and ecological research, especially in coastal areas, adaptation to environmental change, and science communication. As an associate researcher at CIMAR, I actively contribute to advancing our understanding of marine ecosystems, specifically with the massive arrivals of the pelagic algae Sargassum. Additionally, I serve as the coordinator of ECOP-Honduras, collaborating closely with the Central American node to facilitate interdisciplinary research and promote inclusive initiatives. My overarching goal is to integrate scientific research with social and environmental efforts to foster the sustainable management of marine resources.
